Christchurch Cathedral
A beautiful structure of Gothic Architecture. The Cathedral has great crypts which highlight the history of the day. Adjacent to it is Dublinia – a re-enactment of the Viking period.
St. Patrick’s Cathedral
Built by the Vikings in 1191.
A fascinating history – founded as a Roman Catholic Church it changed to a Church of England following the Penal Laws of 1695. It has a lovely serenity within it.
Dublin Castle
Built by the Vikings as a medieval fortress which included a motte and bailey structure. It became the seat of English Rule in Ireland from 1204. It was returned to the Irish state in 1922. It is well worth a visit just to see its Church, State rooms and other gems.
