Dalkey Castle and Museum

This is very atmospheric village on the east coast overlooking Irish sea. It has a 14th century castle in the village. the museum is totally dedicated to the history of the village and the adjoining islands and so is a must see. There are models and exhibitions to be explored. the village is full of bijoux shops of all kinds to be explored.

Russborough House

This is a Georgian House built around 1741. To this day it does retain a lot of its stunning original design and opulence both outside and inside. Put it on your list to ‘see’. It has beautiful gardens and lakes. It is owned by the Alfred Beit Foundation – that of itself has its own story.

Maynooth College and Town

Maynooth College traces its history back to 1795 when it was known as St. Patrick’s College. It was built for the training of Catholic Priests and in 1850 was the largest training college for Catholic priests in the world. Today this college is an Ecumenical College and it has over 15,000 students attending there for various disciplines of studies. The town itself has an ‘olde worlde’ charm about it.
