Dublin Parks Tour
We have beautiful parks here in Ireland. There is lots of flora and fauna to be seen.Our majestic parks are all located in quite densely populated areas.
Suggesting a few parks to visit –
- Phoenix Park,
- St Anne’s Park,
- Botanical Gardens.
Phoenix Park
Consists of 1760 acres that is walled in. The biggest walled in park in Europe. It is full of history, Aras An Uachtarain’s house (our president’s residence) is here, as is the United States ambassadors residence. the zoological garden and many other fascinating places are located in the park. Deer roam throughout the park – so watch out. It has lots of meanderings trails throughout.
St. Anne’s Park
Layout of gardens enthusiasts will love this park. Very well planned and planted. Best known for its Rose Garden. This park has also got lots of walks and trails available to the visitor. It also has follies in it and restored clock tower. The Battle of Clontarf took place here. It is just a stroll away from Bull Island causeway.
Botanical Gardens
Also known as The National Botanic Gardens opened in 1795. These gardens have a History all of its own – well worth a visit. These gardens adjacent to Glasnevin Cemetry. It consists of 48 acres and is a Heritage garden well renowned for its exquisite plant collections. There are 16,000 different plant species grown here. Also well known for its beautiful historic glasshouses – these alone a worth a visit.
